Hey folks!

Thanks for stopping in! This is the place to read about the latest shoots, new products, and general shenanigans going on around here. Please visit the website for full portfolio, pricing, and details.

In case we haven't yet met, I'm a sunshine loving, coffee drinking, picture taking, prank making, pizza loving, movie watching, spider hating, hysterically laughing, late sleeping, late working, people watching, veggie eating, animal loving, big dreaming, fast thinking, funny-face making, sarcastically joking, super dirty martini drinking, shoe collecting geek. The kind with REALLY thick glasses and mall bangs in her 6th grade class pictures. Let's vow never to let another picture like that be taken again, eh?

Happy New Year’s + Sneak Peek

Happy 2009!  Hope everyone’s New Year’s Eve was fulfilling and fun!!  Do you all have your NY resolutions set already??  Mine is to keep my head on straight and stay focused, accomplishing more of my goals this year than ever thought possible (I swear I’ve got a mild form of ADHD!! Or maybe that I just get too excited about ideas and have so many of them that any sane and normal person would never finish them all either?  You tell me!).

I spent my New Year’s Eve (along with my second shooter/editor/assistant/office manager Lily- hi Lily!- and Holly Kate from Sweet Pea Events) at a most fabulous wedding- Dave and Keenan had the party of the year at Pravda in Capital Hill.  There was dancing, hotdogs, a road-dog, invisible double dutch, our photobooth, a 3 minute 48 second ceremony (seriously!! it was AWESOME!), Wii boxing (ooh my arms are sore…), and Top Pot donuts stacked so so high!  More on that later, but just wanted to sneak them a peek of my two fav images from the day (well, so far anyway.  We haven’t even loaded all 2700 images into Lightroom yet to edit!).

Enjoy, Keenan and Dave!  Thank you so much for inviting us all into your lives for this fabulous celebration: we all had a GREAT time!!!

Hitched: Julie and Billy at Herrington On The Bay

One afternoon late last year, I received an email (or shoot, was it a phone call?) from a gal named Julie, who was marrying the man of her dreams.  She asked me if by chance, I travel.  My answer: of course!!  You see, Julie spotted the wedding pictures of one of her favorite local dj’s after he got hitched, and wanted to talk with me about coming to Maryland for her wedding.

Jonny and I were so excited to finally land over on the East coast- we had never been to Maryland and couldn’t wait to meet Julie and Billy after all the phone conversations and planning emails over the last year and some months.  We actually hit three states in the week we were there, but more to come on that later, some day, when I finally get to blogging about my travels (sorry, it’s so on the bottom of my list of things to do!).  The weather was uncharacteristically pleasant the week we were there- nice and warm, but not humid!

They were married at the beautiful coastal venue, Herrington On The Bay.  Wearing an ethereal Vera Wang gown with a little something blue sewn into the hem, she said “I do” to Billy as his father performed his last duty as a reverend, over the years marrying all of his children!  Billy’s daughter and granddaughter, Julie’s daughter, and so many close friends and family were there on the most perfect Maryland August afternoon.  The light was incredible, the skies were gorgeous.  Congrats you guys, and thank you SO much for giving us the opportunity to capture these moments for you!!

Snow Is Gone, But I Sure Don’t Miss It!

Seattle was blanketed in a record amount of snowfall this last week- it was stated on the news that we hadn’t had this much snowfall since 1861 & 1871!!  The entire city was shut down the week before Christmas, putting a crimp on everyone’s shopping plans. (Including mine- I am STILL waiting on some corporate xmas cards that I ordered on the 12th, normally PLENTY of time for addressing and mailing before 12.25!!)

With the roads completely covered, stores shut down, and no where to go- I dragged my little sis out of her warm living room to come outside and have some fun.  (see, she lives a mere five or so houses down the street!).

I taught her how to make snow angels (She’s almost 27.  Really, Hillary?  Really?)

These next three were taken in the middle of the night on our street (handheld, no tripod!).  I **heart** my Nikon D3!!!

The snow is finally, thankfully, nearly all melted… I never thought I’d be so excited to drive to work again, wearing my REGULAR shoes and only ONE layer of pants, socks, and sweaters!

Happy Holidays Y’all

Are we officially changing this year’s Christmas to a “Merry NewYearsMas” because of all this crazy snow?

Courier delays, road closures, store closures, and a very very rare foot of snow over here in Seattle has got us at the edge of our seats waiting for holiday gifts, holiday cards, and more importantly, a good pair of snow boots!!  And there’s more on it’s way tonight!  I guess it’s a white Christmas this year!

So… in the meantime…
